When it is not possible to suspend the cable on overhead towers or install it into cable ducts, cable can be buried in any ground types, swamps, and harsh rivers. A distinctive feature of a direct buried cable is the armor, which protects cable from crushing loads. Incab InArmor cable range consists of 16 designs.

Direct buried cable installation is more expensive than overhead installation, but sometimes it is a better option as optical cable installed into the ground is more durable and reliable than overhead cable. Also, it’s a fine solution for long cross-country installations.

InArmor cables can be either dielectric (with armor of fiberglass rods) or non-dielectric (with armor of galvanized steel wires).

Choose the design considering the soil and the operating conditions: reinforced designs with double armor suit harsh environments with the proven design life of 25 years. If the laying of fiber optic communication line passes through wetlands or river crossings, then additional protection against moisture may be required in the design. Incab uses aluminum and polymer tape, which gives additional protection of the cable core against moisture.

All InArmor cables may be produced as flame-retardant.
